Marc Goossens takes his first laps in the No. 90 Visit Florida Racing Corvette DP

Daytona Beach, Fla. (18 November 2015) – The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship staged its first test of the 2016 season at Daytona International Speedway this week and Visit Florida Racing completed a successful two days of on-track action at the team’s home track located just miles from its Daytona Beach race shop.

Marc Goossens took his first laps in the No. 90 Visit Florida Racing Corvette DP and after some time away from the prototype machinery, was right back into the swing of things.

“We had a good test – the team is good and the car is good,” said Goossens of his first run in the No. 90 Corvette DP. “Visit Florida Racing has a proven record and this test was more for me to adapt to the package and to get to know the team and to understand how we need to communicate. At this point, I’m pretty happy. It’s almost a feeling like I’ve never been away from DP driving. So I’m pretty happy with that because I didn’t know what to expect. I’m impressed with the whole set up. It’s a small team, but a very good atmosphere, and very capable people on board here. I’m looking forward to January. Daytona is approaching very fast. It’s looking strong, and I look forward to being here together with Ryan (Dalziel) so we can work together and get the car better to our liking. I’m veryGoossens impressed with the organization and we’ve had a very smooth test.”
