Daytona Beach, FL 2 July 09 – As fans from across the nation prepare to celebrate the 4th of July with a big day of racing at Daytona International Speedway, Spirit of Daytona Racing will be sporting an appropriate look as the No. 90 Porsche V8-powered Coyote will carry a Red, White, and Blue livery to celebrate a partnership with Boy Scouts of America in Saturday afternoon’s Brumos Porsche 250.
The No. 90 Boy Scouts of America entry will be co-driven by 2009 Rolex 24 At Daytona Champions Buddy Rice and Antonio Garcia, and marks the Rolex Sports Car Series competition debut for the newest specification Coyote chassis. The Boy Scout logo will be prominently placed on the No. 90 entry as the Rolex Sports Car Series opens a big day of racing at Spirit of Daytona’s home track.
Forged by Sullivan Worldwide Marketing Group, the partnership between Spirit of Daytona Racing and the Boy Scouts of America continues to grow on the collaboration that was initially commenced in the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona, and is focused on creating a series of opportunities to promote Scouting in a dynamic new environment.
“The Boy Scouts of America were with us on the car in the 24, and we are really happy to have them back with us again this weekend,” said team owner Troy Flis. “Scouting is something that should be celebrated, and we are happy to be involved with this program. I think us making it to the end of the 24 was a pretty good example of ‘being prepared,’ and hopefully we can bring them an even stronger finish this weekend. This is a big weekend for us-racing at home with a new car, a new pair of drivers, and a returning sponsor, so we are really looking forward to going racing on Saturday afternoon.”
The Brumos 250 will be carried live on SPEED at 2:00 PM EDT, with an 8:30 AM practice session kicking the action off ahead of a 10:45 AM qualifying session.
